Daily Life
Stonebow House Activity coordinators are a well-trained and dedicated team and tailor clubs and activities to suit both the individual and group profiles. Residents are encouraged to continue with hobbies, as well as gain new interests. This is an important part of sustaining and promoting self-esteem, identity and a sense of individuality.
There are a range of clubs with a weekly schedule posted for residents to view at their leisure with both a morning and an afternoon social activity scheduled daily. Residents can join our Bakers Club or Gardening Club that meet on a regular basis with guest speakers.
Volunteers are welcome to enquire about our weekly schedule by contacting our Senior Activity coordinator or office.

Food & Menus
At Stonebow House, we understand that mealtimes are not just about nourishment—they’re a central part of our residents’ daily wellbeing and enjoyment. That’s why we place great emphasis on serving delicious, varied, and nutritious meals throughout the day, all tailored to individual needs and preferences.
Daily Dining
We provide four freshly prepared meals each day: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and supper. Our team takes pride in offering a homely dining experience that blends comfort, choice, and quality.

A Breakfast to Look Forward To
We believe breakfast sets the tone for the day. That’s why we prepare a full English breakfast every morning, cooked fresh in-house. Residents are also welcome to request alternatives such as pancakes, fresh fruit salad, porridge, toast, or a selection of eggs made to their liking. Whether someone prefers a hearty start or something lighter, our kitchen team is happy to accommodate.
Afternoon Tea & Snacks
Our popular tea trolley makes its rounds twice a day, offering a delightful selection of homemade cakes, soups, sandwiches, and savoury quiches, alongside a wide range of hot and cold beverages. These moments provide not just nourishment but also opportunities for socialising and enjoying comforting treats.
Personal Touches & Celebrations
Our cooks are always happy to prepare special requests and love to create celebratory cakes for birthdays or other meaningful occasions. We warmly welcome family members to join us for meals and special celebrations, helping to make mealtimes a shared and joyful experience.

Choice, Variety & Resident Involvement
Residents are presented with a daily menu offering a choice of meals. For those who may not fancy the day’s options, our team always offers alternatives and is happy to discuss personalised choices. We actively encourage residents to share their feedback and ideas—menu suggestions are gathered in regular residents’ meetings, and Apetito hosts tasting sessions to introduce and sample new dishes.
Seasonal Menus & Special Diets
Our four-week rolling menu rotates to ensure variety and reflects seasonal ingredients, providing fresh, flavourful meals all year round. All dietary preferences and food allergies are recorded in individual care plans and clearly communicated to our kitchen team to ensure safe and appropriate meals are always served.
