At Stonebow House we welcome residents to our long-term care, respite care or day care services. We are a 28-bed home providing high standards of care with 24-hour support for your loved ones.

Day care
At Stonebow House, our day care service offers a warm and stimulating environment for older people who want support, companionship and meaningful engagement during the day. Open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, our service is ideal for individuals who live at home but benefit from structured support and social opportunities.
Visitors start the day with a nutritious breakfast, followed by a lunch and afternoon tea with snacks, all prepared on-site. Throughout the day, our dedicated Activity Coordinators lead a variety of clubs, crafts, games and social sessions tailored to individual interests and abilities. From gentle exercise to music, reminiscence sessions and seasonal crafts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Guests can also access personal care services, including bathing or showering, and on certain days, appointments with our in-house hairdresser. We also offer outings into the local community, providing a chance to enjoy new experiences in a safe and supported way.
Set in beautifully maintained grounds, Stonebow House also offers tranquil outdoor spaces—perfect for a gentle stroll or relaxing in the fresh air.

Respite Care
Our respite care service at Stonebow House offers a welcoming, supportive environment for individuals who need short-term residential care—whether for a few days or a few weeks. Whether you’re recovering from an illness, your regular carer is taking a well-earned break, or you just need a change of pace, we’re here to help.
During your stay, you’ll receive a person-centred care plan, tailored to your needs, preferences and routines, delivered by our experienced and compassionate team. From the moment you arrive, we aim to make you feel comfortable, cared for and part of our friendly residential community.
Respite residents are invited to take part in our daily clubs and activities, led by dedicated Activity Co-ordinators, including arts and crafts, games, music, exercise, and reminiscence sessions. We also organise weekly outings to local attractions, and regular live entertainment and seasonal events to enjoy alongside fellow residents.
At Stonebow House, we welcome family and friends to visit at any time with our opendoor policy, and we’re proud to have a growing network of local volunteers and groups who regularly join us for activities and conversation.

Digital documentation of care
All care is documented digitally with Person Centered Software. Next-of-kin have access to the daily care story, the plan and activities of their loved ones through the Relatives Gateway.
Residents are encouraged to take part in the daily decisions of their care and are consulted on a regular basis.
Health visitors and medication
Doctors and nurses make weekly visits to Stonebow House or as requested. Upon admission every resident will be registered for care by one of the local GP practices. Well trained and qualified staff will administer medication as per prescription. Medication prescribed is ordered, collected and received by the senior members of the care team. All permanent and respite residents are registered with a local GP upon arrival.
We also organise regular visits by chiropodists, dentists and opticians although this is a private arrangement at the residents’ own cost.
